Gardner-White initiates Same Day Delivery

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling it a breakthrough in customer service in Michigan, Gardner-White today announced that "same day delivery - 7 days a week" is now available at every Gardner-White store.

According to Pam George, Gardner-White Operations Manager, the company undertook the same-day initiative in response to growing customer demand, but "it wasn't easy". "Everyone at Gardner-White is thrilled to to offer Same Day Delivery," she said. "It has been a huge logistical challenge . . . an unprecedented company-wide initiative, undertaken solely to benefit the consumer."

Starting today, when you shop at Gardner-White, you can "save on it today and enjoy it tonight". A $50,000,000 furniture and mattress inventory guarantees that virtually any living room, dining room, bedroom or mattress is in stock for delivery on the day of purchase. Even large room packages with 50" or 60" TVs qualify for this option. The complete room, with the TV, will be delivered same day. Premium mattress brands, like icomfort and tempurpedic, also can be delivered same day. Fortunately for consumers, there is no extra charge for the same day service. The Same Day option is available for the standard furniture delivery charge, while same day delivery on most mattresses is totally free. There is a new application, called Dispatch Track, on the Gardner-White website. Dispatch Track allows a buyer to track her furniture delivery process, in real time, from store to home. Pam George says, "Dispatch Track eliminates the need to sit at home for hours waiting for delivery. You know exactly when your furniture will reach your home, so you can get there just in time to welcome it."

Steve Tracey, Gardner-White CEO, explains, "This is the age of instant consumer gratification. Once someone falls in love with a piece of furniture, she wants it in her home right away." He added, "This is the best way we could improve the Gardner-White experience. Our Same Day option means we can accommodate everyone's busy lifestyle."

In addition to Same Day Delivery, Gardner-White is also offering "Any Day Delivery". When a customer chooses Any Day Delivery, she can have her furniture delivered on the day of her choice, even Saturday and Sunday, after 4pm. Steve Tracey says, "Our customers no longer have to take a day off from work. They can schedule delivery late in the day, or on the weekend, strictly at their convenience."
