Garmin selects Ventura, California as newest Garmin Marathon Series location

Event will showcase breathtaking mountain and ocean scenery in August 2027

OLATHE, Kan., Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Garmin (NYSE: GRMN) today announced the Garmin Marathon Series will expand to a fourth location in Ventura, California, on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2027. The event will feature a Boston Marathon-qualifying marathon, a USATF-certified half marathon, a 10K and a 5K, with courses showcasing one of California's most picturesque coastal communities.

Runners begin and end in downtown Ventura, taking in historic architecture and charming local businesses. They will also enjoy captivating views of the Santa Ynez Mountains and Pacific Ocean, framed by rolling hills and the trademark coastal beauty of the region. The routes are designed to highlight the juxtaposition of epic natural scenery and quaint, easygoing character of Ventura, delivering a memorable race experience for participants of all skill levels.

A two-day expo will feature Garmin products, as well as activations from national brand partners and local vendors. Attendees can expect limited edition race gear from Garmin and family-friendly activities like a selfie station and sign-making area. After the race, a finish line festival in downtown Ventura will give runners and spectators a chance to celebrate with local food and entertainment. Both the expo and finish line festival are open to the public.

To ensure a seamless experience for participants, volunteers and residents, Ventura has formed a local organizing committee (LOC) that includes the following entities: Garmin, Visit Ventura, City of Ventura, Ventura Police Department, Ventura Fire Department, Downtown Ventura, Ventura Chamber and California State Parks, among others.
