Gateway Health(SM) Names Horace Highland Manager of Public Affairs and Program Development for Ohio

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway Health(SM) (Gateway), a leading managed care organization that offers healthcare plans to Medicare eligible individuals, announced today that Horace Highland joins the company as their new Public Affairs and Program Development Manager for Ohio. Highland, an experienced traditional and Medicare insurance professional, will act as a liaison between the Ohio community and Gateway Health, providing community outreach and generating awareness of Gateway and its programs.  Gateway recently announced that it will offer Medicare Advantage Plans in 23 Ohio counties in 2014 and hopes to grow that presence with the help of Highland and others dedicated to the Ohio market.

Most recently, Highland was a Principal Health Benefits Consultant for Highland Insurance LLC, specializing in Individual Health Plans, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement Plans and other specialty products. Prior to that, Highland held sales and marketing and management positions with United Healthcare, Humana Inc., WellCare Inc., American Family Insurance, Lubriquip, Inc and General Electric Company.  He sits on various Advisory Boards and committees in the Ohio area including:  Alpha Homes Inc., United Way's Project Blueprint, Community Support Services, Leadership Akron Alumni Association and the Minority Health Roundtable of Summit County.  Highland holds an M.B.A. from Kensington University and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Central State University.
