Gateway Spine & Pain Physicians Continues Expansion of Chicago Area Pain Management with Addition of Dr. Jiten Patel

Gateway Spine & Pain Physicians was founded from the desire to create a comprehensive pain management practice providing the highest level of care to those suffering from acute and chronic pain.  "Over the past decade, Gateway has evolved and grown to meet the needs of our patients.  This growth continues with the newest member of our team, Dr. Patel, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise as well as a commitment to deliver compassionate, comprehensive, and collaborative care," stated Dr. John Hong, M.D., founder and President of Gateway Spine & Pain Physicians.

Dr Jiten Patel is double board certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.  He received his Bachelor of Science and Medical Doctorate degrees at the University of Illinois and the University of Illinois at Chicago, respectively.  After completing a transitional year at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, he completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Illinois at Chicago and then a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

"I really believe in empowering patients to manage their own pain. This not only means educating patients about their condition but also setting realistic expectations. Treating chronic pain takes time, and I strive to do what I can to ensure that I am able to get the best possible results for the patient. Ultimately we all want no pain at all, but many times just making the pain better can be a success and help people get back to what they enjoy."

Dr. Patel has a special interest in the holistic treatment of pain, especially using Eastern techniques such mindfulness, manipulation, and yoga, to treat pain and promote healing.

Dr. Patel is originally from the Chicagoland area, having grown up in the western suburbs.  He is excited to serve his neighborhood at Gateway Spine & Pain Physicians.
