Gazpromneft-Aero Showcases Russia's Best Practices in Aviation Fuel Supply at the IATA Forum

Specialists from Gazpromneft-Aero, the operator of Gazprom Neft's aviation fuel business, has seized the opportunity presented by the Aviation Fuel Forum of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which is being held October 28-31 in the U.S., to showcase the best practices of implementation of the international standards governing aviation fuel supply at airports throughout Russia and the CIS. The company was also presented with a special IATA award in recognition of the two organizations' longstanding and highly-productive cooperation.

Gazpromneft-Aero is the undisputed leader of Russian aviation fuel industry. The company has been partnering with the IATA for the past five years, during which Gazpromneft-Aero's total investments in the modernization of aviation fuel infrastructure and construction of new refuelling complexes have exceeded RUB 10 bln. Seven of Gazpromneft-Aero's refuelling complexes have earned the IATA's highest aviation fuel-supply quality status, envisioning unrestricted aircraft-refuelling operations. IATA  member Arline experts have confirmed that Gazpromneft-Aero meets the required levels of operational and environmental safety at the company's refuelling complexes.

Every year, Gazpromneft-Aero partners with the IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) to conduct Eastern Europe's only international training programs for specialists from airlines, aviation fuel suppliers, refuelling complexes and oil companies. The training is held in Novosibirsk, based at the refuelling complex of Tolmachevo Airport.

BACKGROUND

Gazpromneft-Aero has been engaged in aircraft refuelling operations and "in-wing" aviation-fuel sales since January 1, 2008.

The company's presence on the foreign market extends to more than 110 airports worldwide.

IATA was founded on August 28, 1919 in the Netherlands as an alliance of airlines known as the International Air Traffic Association. Its mission was to organize safe, regular and profitable air carriage for passengers and cargo, as well as to support and advance the joint operations of all enterprises involved in international air transport. Its successor, founded in April of 1945, was named the International Air Transport Association. Today, the association's membership encompasses roughly 300 airlines (more than 90% of all international flights).
