GBT acquires Laboratorio DOSA
Transaction advances GBT growth agenda and expands its therapeutic area scope into severe pulmonary pathologies
MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay, Nov. 13, 2017 GBT-Grupo Biotoscana (B3: GBIO33), a leading biopharmaceutical company in Latin America, today announced the acquisition of Laboratorio DOSA, a specialty pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Argentina. The transaction continues to advance GBT's strategic agenda and expands GBT's scope into the promising area of severe lung diseases. The bulk of DOSA's products treat severe pulmonary pathologies. DOSA posted revenues of ARS326M (BRL61M) in 2016.
The operation was closed at a price of USD29.9M. (approx. BRL 100M).

Severe pulmonary diseases are one of the fastest-growing segment of the global pharmaceutical sector, according to a recent study by Allied Market Research. GBT will seek to capitalize on this significant opportunity by further expanding its regional footprint and diversifying its product portfolio through in-licensing and proprietary R&D.
