SAN ANTONIO, Texas, November 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
On the 10th to the 12th of December 2012, 75 of the region's most influential healthcare provider executives will convene at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, San Antonio, Texas, for the eleventh annual Next Generation Healthcare US summit (NG Healthcare US11).
Designed specifically with the C-level decision-maker in mind, the summit is tailored to ensure maximum ROI over the two-and-a-half-days. The event is structured to make use of every minute - networking opportunities are maximized through a series of vibrant mediums, including roundtable discussions, peer-led panel discussions, closed door meetings and more casual working lunches, gala dinners and drinks receptions. Once common goals have been established, attendees will be given the opportunity to attend intimate one-on-one meetings.
This year's summit will be addressing a range of key pain points and other emerging issues faced by decision makers in the sector. With a cutting edge program that has been shaped by GDS International's advisory board, key topics scheduled for discussion at the upcoming event include: Big Data, EMR/EHR, mHealth, ICD-10, Accountable Care and Meaningful Use, to name but a few.
As with previous years, the NG Healthcare event will be attended by a selection of core players from the telecom space, including Philip Smith, CMIO for Adventist Health System; Alan Coltri, Chief Systems Architect for Johns Hopkins Medicine; John Mattison, CMIO for Kaiser Permanente; Warren Beck, SVP Finance for Vanderbilt University Medical Center; Chis Jaeger, CMIO for Sutter Health; Susan Huerta, Chief Quality Officer for the University Of Virginia Health System; Edward Glynn, CMIO for HCA; and Mark Moroses, CIO for Continuum Health Partners. There will also be a dynamic collection of sponsors at the event, with some of the most well known names in attendance, including: OptumInsight, athenahealth, Information Builders, Vidyo and Truven Health Analytics.
Todd Craighead, VP Intermountain Healthcare, was an attendee at a previous event. He said of the summit: "The event has been really exciting, and it's been great to meet the attendees. Networking with other healthcare organizations, as well as the vendors who have had some compelling information that they've presented, has been hugely beneficial. It provides a refreshing contrast to other events that often have a large volume of people who attend - it's sometimes difficult to have one-on-one conversations about your particular situation."
In agreement, Mark Eimer, CTO for University of Kentucky Healthcare, said: "You get much more interaction with your colleagues and I think you get to take more out of it just because you get more quality time with your colleagues in the field."
Alex Olson, NG Healthcare US Summit Director for GDS International, says: "The medical technology landscape is evolving at a rapid pace, and providers are adopting new and innovative care models to strengthen their processes and improve the patient experience. The Next Generation Healthcare Summit will serve as a medium for industry leaders to mindshare, benchmark, and contribute to the modernization of healthcare delivery."
