Joins Forces with Publicly Traded UK-Based Company to Broaden IT Solutions and Services

DALLAS, Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GDT, a leading North American technology solutions provider specializing in data center and networking services, today announced a definitive agreement to be acquired by Softcat, a publicly traded UK-based IT infrastructure provider with a complementary portfolio focusing primarily on IT procurement and lifecycle management. The acquisition will expand the range of solutions and services available to both companies' customers, creating a market-leading transatlantic IT solutions platform that can support clients with international requirements while also providing growth opportunities in both organizations' markets.

Softcat ranked as CRN's #1 VAR in the UK for the last three years, also operates in Ireland and other global markets, and offers services spanning software licensing, hardware, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, AI, data and workplace solutions. Its acquisition of GDT is the culmination of the firm's multi-year search for a North American company with the scale, capabilities and cultural alignment to support its international growth strategy.

GDT will retain its name, leadership team and workforce, operating as a wholly owned Softcat subsidiary.

That investment will enable the center to provide expanded engineering expertise, optimized business systems and 24/7 service that is increasingly critical in today's always-on IT environment.

Closing Date

The transaction is expected to close no later than the end of Q1 calendar year 2027, subject to customary regulatory filings and approvals.
