NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Crain's New York Business revealed that GeistM is No. 25 on its annual Crain's Fast 50, a prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing firms in the New York metro area. This year's list represents a diverse range of businesses including Thinx, Compass, Peloton, Casper, WeWork, Teladoc, Oscar Health and others.

Methodology
In the thicket of New York business, big, established companies often overshadow young, nimble startups. That's why Crain's New York Business shines a light on the metro area's fastest-growing firms every year.
To identify the class of 2018, we combed through applications and worked with PrivCo, which tracks private companies' financial information in a proprietary database, as well as S&P Global Market Intelligence to screen their data. We only considered companies with at least $10 million in revenue and ranked them by their three-year growth rate. Most of the privately held businesses confirmed their revenue. For the publicity-shy, we relied on PrivCo or our own research to provide an estimate. Profitability and employee counts are as of fiscal and calendar year 2017, respectively. With an average three-year growth rate of 2,082 percent, these companies are generating serious heat.
