Gen-Ark™ Acquires Scangaroo to Help Families Preserve Digital Assets and Digital Estates

SNOQUALMIE, Wash., July 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In a strategic move to increase its market share, Gen-Ark™ has acquired a Denver-based mobile scanning company to add to its family of services.  Legendary Archives Company LLC (d.b.a. Gen-Ark™) is a closely-held Washington State limited liability company founded in 2011 by Peter Schmitt and a handful of angel investors.  Gen-Ark™ provides private, online, cloud-based archiving services supporting those interested in collecting, organizing, permanently preserving, and maintaining control over their most precious digital assets (photos, audio, videos, and documents) determined to have long-term and enduring value.

Schmitt said the acquisition of Denver-based Scangaroo, the first mobile photo scanning service of its kind, will not only allow Gen-Ark™ to provide the permanent end product of cloud-based storage of legacy possessions, but also "the beginning solution that clients are in need of to get them started on preserving their family's digital estates."

While continuing to expand its client base in Denver, Schmitt says, "Scangaroo's mobile scanning service will be brought to the greater Puget Sound area beginning July 1, with plans to add to its fleet of vans and to expand to other parts of the country over the next several years."

Scangaroo was founded two years ago by Dave Hensley after what turned out to be a futile quest to find someone "that could come to me and safely and securely scan my photos without having to send them off."
