PITTSBURGH, Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- GENCO, a leader in comprehensive transportation solutions and product lifecycle logistics® services, has named eight carriers as winners of the company's first "Carrier of the Year" awards.
"The selected carriers represent the 'best of the best,'" says Tom Nightingale, president of GENCO's Transportation Logistics business unit. Carriers in two service areas — managed transportation and freight solutions — were recognized for their performance in five metrics, including on-time performance, EDI compliance, primary tender acceptance, claims performance and ease of doing business. Using advanced analytics, GENCO developed a "carrier scorecard" to measure carrier performance in the metrics over the course of the past year.
The 2014 managed transportation carrier award recipients and categories are:
- Dayton Freight Lines, Regional LTL
- Con-way Freight, National LTL
- Badger Federal Services, Regional Truckload
- Swift Transportation, National Truckload
- Hub Group, Intermodal
The 2014 freight solutions award recipients and categories are:
- Celadon Trucking, Truckload Provider of the Year
- Integra Logistics Service, Intermodal Provider of the Year
- Hot-Line Freight System, LTL Provider of the Year
The winners were determined by GENCO's freight solutions experts and the transportation purchasing department utilizing the carrier scorecard.
