General Consulate of El Salvador and Elected Officials Join Over 1000 Community Members in Welcoming Lawyers of 1-800-CANTASO to New Brentwood Office
BRENTWOOD, N.Y., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The General Consulate of El Salvador, Dagoberto Alcides Torres, gave a special proclamation in Spanish welcoming the lawyers of 1-800-CANTASO to their new office in Brentwood, New York, last WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15. 2010. He was joined by state and local elected officials, members of the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, leaders of Hispanic organizations on Long Island, and over 1000 people from the community.
The opening ceremony, which was emceed by 1-800-CANTASO and Ferro, Kuba, Mangano, Sklyar, P.C. partner Lance Kuba, was accompanied by a reception in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed from September 15-October 15. Founded in 1968, Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the contributions of Hispanic Americans to the United States. September 15 also Central American Independence Day and marks the anniversary of five countries (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua) declaring independence in 1821.
The new Brentwood Law Center is the first storefront, community-based location for 1-800-CANTASO and will be a full-service law office handling all legal needs for the residents of Brentwood and surrounding areas. They joined 1-800-CANTASO partners William Ferro, Lance Kuba, Adelina Sklyar and attorney Antonia LoBello in cutting a ribbon commemorating the opening of the new Brentwood office.
La Fiesta, the largest Spanish-speaking radio station on Long Island, broadcasted live from the event. More than 1000 attendees also enjoyed live music, watched dance performances featuring children from an El Salvadoran dance troupe, and dined on free traditional fare.
