Georgetown University Presents UberConference's Craig Walker with Entrepreneurial Excellence Award

SAN FRANCISCO, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, UberConference announced that its CEO and co-founder, Craig Walker, has been selected to receive the 2014 Georgetown Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for Outstanding Alumni Entrepreneur.

Nominated by the Georgetown alumni community, Craig was chosen by the board of the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Alliance for exhibiting a high level of innovation and service to the entrepreneurial community, demonstration of a positive impact of business, and other exemplary qualities of an entrepreneur and Georgetown graduate.

I attribute much of my success as a business person to the education I received while earning my MBA at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, and continue to support the school as a proud alumni," says Walker.

Craig Walker brings a broad background as an experienced entrepreneur, venture capitalist, executive and corporate attorney to UberConference, launched in 2012 and funded by Google Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz.

Prior to UberConference, Craig was CEO of Dialpad Communications, which was acquired by Yahoo! in 2005 (now Yahoo! Voice), co-founder and CEO of GrandCentral Communications, acquired by Google in July 2007 (now Google Voice), and was the first Entrepreneur in Residence at Google Ventures.  Craig is a graduate of UC Berkeley (BA), Georgetown University (MBA) and Boalt Hall School of Law.

The award will be given as part of Entreprelooza on April 26, 2014 on Georgetown's campus.

The Georgetown Entrepreneurship Alliance was formed in October of 2012 after several years of engaging, cultivating, and experiencing  the strength of the alumni entrepreneurial community. This is the second year for the Excellence Award. This award is the highest honor bestowed by Georgetown to alumni entrepreneurs.
