Geosyntec Consultants Welcomes Philip Reidy As Associate
BOSTON, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Geosyntec Consultants (www.geosyntec.com) welcomes Philip Reidy, P.E., to its Brookline, Mass., office as an Associate within the firm's watershed and stormwater management practice. Mr. Reidy comes to Geosyntec after serving as President and Founder Rainwater Recovery Inc., a specialty consulting firm focused on the design and implementation of commercial-scale rainwater harvesting and integrated stormwater management systems. These systems significantly reduce the use of municipally-supplied potable water and reduce stormwater flows to combined sewer and stormwater systems. Mr. Reidy began his practice as a geotechnical engineer working on large civil works including landfills, water supply tunnels, excavation support systems and related dewatering schemes; with his founding of Rainwater Recovery, he has developed ways to apply and improve water management and reuse systems that are providing profound benefits in the water conservation and stormwater control fields.
Mr. Reidy and Marcus Quigley, P.E., D.WRE, CPESC, who is also located in Geosyntec's Brookline office, have a joint patent application filed for an Advanced Harvesting Controller, which allows a stormwater control system's storage volume to be managed automatically to optimize cistern use for harvesting applications while providing the additional benefit of peak storm flow mitigation for stormwater management systems. Innovations such as this are supporting new approaches in this field and improving the efficiency of traditional ones.
Mr. Reidy received his M.S. in civil engineering/geotechnical from Northeastern University in Boston, his B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts. He can be contacted via e-mail at [email protected] or telephone at 617.734.4436 ext. 230.
