Spot Ex is now indicated for clinical surveillance in addition to surgical localization. Leading societies recommend tattooing of malignant lesions, post-polypectomy sites, and difficult-to-detect polyps to enable future identification at follow-up colonoscopy or surgery.1
Recently published national data highlighted that colon cancer incidence and mortality rates are rising in younger patients.2,3 Additionally, new clinical guidelines have been released from the European Society Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) that recommend tattooing all lesions that need to be followed-up at future colonoscopy or surgery.1
Spot Ex helps clinicians combat these trends and implement the guidelines by offering expanded indications that include long-term clinical surveillance.
