Gipper™ for the 21st Century: New App Makes Sharing Sports Highlights Easy

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Gipper™, a free sports video highlights sharing app that allows you to post, organize and share by sport and/or high school, is now available in the iOS App Store. With Gipper, players, parents, coaches, schools and soon club teams, now have their own social media manager, allowing them to share and celebrate their best sports moments with their communities, simply and easily.

Gipper was created by Harvard-Westlake graduate Matthew Glick, who is a rising sophomore at Colgate University, where he plays Division 1 soccer. The genesis for Gipper came from a high school course on entrepreneurism, where Matthew's idea was the most popular in a class competition.

"As an athlete, I was always looking for ways to share the best sports moments from both my school teams and club teams," said Matthew. "But there was no single place where I could upload, share, and search for videos that would be easy to find, and where the audience would be only focused on sports. So I created Gipper."

Gipper's features include the ability to search for and filter by teams associated with any high school in the US, the ability to filter videos by sport, and liking and commenting. Gipper effectively serves as the social media manager for any school (and soon, any club sports team), providing a place for their communities to upload, share, comment and review. Gipper also offers a unique one-touch slo-mo feature, which allows the user to toggle any video in and out of slow-motion simply by pressing the streaming video with a finger.
