GiveLitter™ Launches Initiative to Donate Litter to Animal Shelters Across the Country

MUSCATINE, Iowa, Aug. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --Three animal rescue groups are preparing for an online campaign that will allow participants to donate free all-natural litter to shelters across the country.

World's Best Cat Litter™ is supporting this fourth round of its GiveLitter™ initiative that will see thousands of pounds of much-needed cat litter being donated to A.D.O.P.T Pet Shelter in Illinois, Homeward Pet in Washington, and Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons in New York. All of the participating shelters are part of the No More Homeless Pets® Network – a program of the Best Friends Animal Society®.

GiveLitter™ makes donating simple by bringing the voting campaign to "feline-thropists" via Facebook at http://givelitter.com/fb and on the program's website at http://www.givelitter.com.

Beginning today, animal-lovers everywhere can vote once a day at either online location; each vote will help donate pounds of World's Best Cat Litter™ to their choice of the three animal shelters. The effort follows on the heels of three previous GiveLitter™ efforts that have resulted in over 41,000 pounds of free litter being donated to shelters in Washington D.C., Los Angeles and three shelters spread across Texas!

While the amount of litter donated to the rescue organizations won't be announced until after September 16th, shelter representatives are gearing up for a program that will harness the power of the web to make sure truckloads of free litter are donated to their adoption centers.

Organizers are encouraging individuals to log-on and participate in the GiveLitter™ campaign that reflects an ongoing commitment by World's Best Cat Litter™ to support those dedicated to finding homes for neglected, abused and lost animals.
