GLG Completes Austin Office Expansion To Accommodate Growth

AUSTIN, Texas, July 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc.), the world's leading platform connecting business to insight, has completed a major expansion of its office in Austin, Texas, doubling its footprint at 301 Congress Avenue to 84,000 square feet on four floors, with space for 730 employees. The completed project includes an outdoor terrace, two open interconnecting staircases, a large training and presentation room with the ability to broadcast live events, a second barista bar, and an extended elevator bank, among other features.

GLG's expansion in Austin comes amid a period of sustained rapid growth for the company worldwide. For example, in July alone, GLG Austin is adding about 150 new employees.

Like many of GLG's offices around the world, GLG Austin incorporates activity-based working, which enhances flexibility by providing a variety of private meeting and collaboration spaces, standing tables, cafés, and phone booths. The company pioneered this approach with its groundbreaking New York office in 2014. The new space, like GLG's existing Austin office floors, was designed by award-winning architecture firm Clive Wilkinson Architects, which also designed the company's global headquarters in New York City.

GLG has occupied the 15^th and 16^th floors of 301 Congress Avenue since July 2016. With the new construction, GLG now occupies the entire 3^rd floor and half of the 2^nd floor in the building as well. For efficient access between GLG offices, direct elevator access was constructed to connect the 3^rd and 15^th floors.

In addition to constructing the outdoor covered terrace on the third floor, new windows were cut into the building, increasing natural light throughout the office. The 3^rd floor also features a large training and presentation room that can accommodate up to 150 people and contains a stage and theater lighting with the ability to broadcast live events.

Clive Wilkinson Architects was supported on the project by Austin architecture firm STG Design. GLG was further supported with project management from Aquila and audiovisual from Felix Media Solutions. The interior fit-out was constructed by Harvey-Cleary Builders. The building is managed by HPI Real Estate Services.
