DALLAS, March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second year in a row, Global Data Vault was named one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies by Louisiana State University.
The distinction is bestowed upon 100 alumnus entrepreneurs from across the United States and Internationally who have demonstrated outstanding business leadership and excellence. Chosen from hundreds of nominees, Global Data Vault is among the best of the best LSU-owned or LSU-led businesses in the world for the second year running.
The LSU 100 celebrates the success of former LSU students and recognizes the impact of LSU on the local, regional and national economies. The LSU 100 is co-hosted by LSU and the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute.
To be considered for the award, companies had to have been in business for 5 years or more and have had verifiable revenues upwards of $100,000 for the calendar year of 2008, have a former LSU student as owner of 50% or more or acting as CEO, president or managing partner. The company must also operate in a manner consistent with and in keeping with the values and image of Louisiana State University.
Global Data Vault is included in this distinguished group thanks to Will Baccich, a 1980 computer science graduate of LSU. After his degree at LSU, Baccich went on to work in accounting and the computer software industries before founding Global Data Vault in 2001. "We are honored and proud to be among this elite member group of alumnus – not to mention that I am excited to return to visit with my fellow alumni recipients," Baccich says.
The LSU 100 is more than an awards ceremony and plaque. It also celebrates the spirit of success by providing a forum to pass lessons on to the next generation of LSU entrepreneurs. Part of the upcoming April festivities is a unique pairing of educational opportunities for the LSU 100 recipients to share their insight with the future generation of LSU entrepreneurs.
"It is so important to the future of Louisiana that we foster the business spirit within the state." Baccich continues, "My hat goes off to the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute for organizing such a prestigious event that has truly created a legacy potential with the caliber that this one has. I am truly humbled to be a part of it."
