HONG KONG, Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Exhibitor booths at Global Sources' (NASDAQ: GSOL) electronics trade shows, scheduled to run Oct. 12-15 at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, have been sold out. The co-located China Sourcing Fairs: Electronics & Components, Security Products, Solar & Energy Saving Products and Korea Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components will feature over 3,800 booths, a 15 percent increase from last fall.

Sales generated from the electronics and information manufacturing industry in mainland China reached approximately US$428 billion in the first five months of 2011, representing a year-on-year growth of 21.6 percent, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Output of mobile phones and microcomputers increased by 15.8 percent and 23.9 percent, respectively, during the January-May period.
Specialized pavilions to showcase hottest electronics products
While the majority of exhibitors for the October 2011 event are from mainland China, buyers can also have the opportunity to see competitive electronics products from other production centers including Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, India, the Philippines, Australia and Italy.
Highlights of the upcoming China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components include the increasingly popular iProducts pavilion. Twice the size of last year, it will showcase the latest iPhone, iPad and iPod accessories.
Buyers can also find Asia's largest in-car electronics and GPS pavilions and Hong Kong's biggest telecom and computer pavilions. In response to the growing demand for mobile computing devices, this fall's show will also feature larger pavilions for computer tablets and mobile device accessories.
Other product pavilions will showcase networking products, personal digital electronics, consumer electronics and accessories, home entertainment and equipment, electronic components, interconnection technology, power supplies, wireless products, bags and cases and mobile phones.
Global Sources' second China Sourcing Fair: Solar & Energy Saving Products has also proven popular among buyers and suppliers, with booths up by 16 percent from the previous event.
Fruitful sourcing platforms for buyers
"Buyer participation at our electronics shows is in a vigorous upturn," Wong said. "Attendance at the spring 2011 show reached 33,549 buyers, up 18.7 percent year-on-year. This increase is the result of a strengthening global economy and an increasing demand for the latest electronic gadgets and components."
