Glowpoint Connects Skype Users to Telepresence at Enterprise Connect Event

(OTC Bulletin Board: GLOW), a leading global provider of cloud-based, managed services for telepresence, video conferencing and collaboration, today announced that they have begun demonstrating Skype to standards-based video calling, including H.323 and immersive telepresence, utilizing its cloud-based, multi-party B2B video collaboration service called Virtual Video Room (VVR). The calls are being demonstrated live on March 1 and March 2 at the Enterprise Connect event in Orlando, Florida.

The technology demonstrations include connecting Skype users, and other desktop video services, from both laptop and mobile devices to various standards-based video systems, including Polycom and Cisco video systems as well immersive telepresence systems, such as the Polycom TPX rooms, Cisco CTS and Cisco T3 systems. The connections are made by having each party securely dial-in to Glowpoint's VVR - a reservation-less multi-point service that utilizes unique conference and host pin code technology, similar to audio conferencing services.
