GMC TV Opens Its Home To A New Original World Premiere Reality Series

ATLANTA, May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- GMC TV, America's favorite channel for uplifting family entertainment, will expand its slate of original unscripted family entertainment when the "Bulloch Family Ranch" makes its world television premiere on UP, Friday, July 19 at 10 p.m. EDT, following the season finale episode of "Family Addition with Leigh Anne Tuohy."  After the premiere week, new episodes will debut starting July 26 in its regularly scheduled time slot on Fridays at 9:00 p.m. EDT each week for six weeks. 

GMC TV will officially change its name to UP on June 1.  The network's new name communicates a clear sense of its unique brand position, which has always been, and will continue to be, "Uplifting Entertainment."

"Bulloch Family Ranch" chronicles the dramatic everyday adventures of Julie and Rusty Bulloch, a fun-loving working class couple that juggles multiple jobs to make ends meet.  Together, they are the proud "parents" of more than 25 kids.  Only two, Amanda and Brodie, are biological.  The rest are teens who have lived at the Bulloch Ranch during various times of dire need.  For almost two decades, the Ranch has served as a place where troubled teens are welcomed with open arms and given a chance to get back on the right track.  Rusty and Julie are committed to giving all their "kids" a stable, caring, nurturing environment along with the tools they need to become productive adults.

The series kicks off with the arrival of two new troubled youths – high school football players Davin and Jordan.  In most cases, these teens have sought out Rusty, Julie and the Ranch as their new home, but in Davin's case, a local social worker asked the family to help him following some incidents with the law.  Meanwhile, in Jordan's case, son Brodie invited Jordan to the Ranch because he saw that the teen was teetering on the brink.  As usual, Julie and Rusty followed their hearts and opened their home once again.

High-school sweethearts Rusty and Julie are working class Americans.  Rusty wears many hats: high school football coach, cowboy, youth pastor, and is one of the country's few farriers – a specialist in horse hoof care.  Julie manages the household, the shopping and the kids.  Plus, she runs her own inflatable bounce house/waterslide business, sells meal replacement shakes, caters and does photography.  The Ranch isn't a palace and they did not intentionally plan on becoming "parents" to so many troubled teens. 

Their calling to care for struggling kids began 16 years ago when a young lady reached out for help.  Ever since that day, they have extended their hand again and again.  In central Florida, the Ranch has become known as a refuge for young adults on the path of self-destruction.  For these kids, being taken in by the Bulloch family means being given a second chance, and in some cases, this may be their last chance to build a better future.

The Bulloch family's ranch has a proven track record for being a springboard to success.  One of their young men, Claude Davis, went from running with street gangs to running on the football field as an outstanding Defensive End for SFU.  Recently, with the continued support of the Bullochs, Davis had a stint on the NFL roster of the New York Jets as a walk-on and is now heading for the CFL. 

Over the course of the season, viewers will get an inside look at an extraordinary household and the compelling life stories that unfold within the family.  To be sure, there is never a dull moment when it comes to the Bullochs. Structure, discipline, love, faith, respect, amazing down home cooking and crazy pranks abound in the new original UP World Premiere series "Bulloch Family Ranch."
