Gonzalez Heads Back to San Antonio as General Manager

MERRILLVILLE, Ind., April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Chip Young, White Lodging's Regional Vice President of Region 6, recently announced the promotion of Marco Gonzalez to General Manager of the Residence Inn San Antonio Downtown/Market Square.  "I am very excited to welcome Marco back to San Antonio," said Young.  "I look forward to him making a positive impact and adding value to the hotel as he continues to grow with White Lodging."

No stranger to the hotel, in 2008 Gonzalez started his career at the Residence Inn San Antonio as the Executive Housekeeping Manager/Operations Manager.  While in this position, he received White Lodging's Housekeeping Manager of the Year Award for extended stay/select service properties.  "I know this property well," said Gonzalez, "and I am honored to accept the GM position."

Prior to his most recent promotion, Gonzalez was the Assistant General Manager at the Residence Inn Houston Galleria – one of 34 Texas properties under the White Lodging banner.  While at the Houston Residence Inn, Gonzalez was responsible for all hotel operations including the front desk, housekeeping, breakfast, social hour, and maintenance.

A graduate of Texas State University, Gonzalez hopes that in his new position he can improve employee performance and guest satisfaction and gain an increase in market share.
