GoPro® Congratulates Winter X Games Tignes, France 2012 Ski and Snowboard Standouts

GoPro athletes were big contenders who rounded out the podium; winning five medals combined, with Shaun White taking home two gold medals, dominating the SuperPipe and winning gold in Slopestyle after a two-year hiatus from the event.  Jamie Anderson scored an impressive 98 in Snowboard Slopestyle to take home the gold and Tom Wallisch to bring home the silver while Eric Willett had a remarkable comeback in his third run to lock the bronze.

Coming off a historical win at Winter X Games in Aspen, scoring a perfect 100-point run, Shaun White was ready to go for gold at his first appearance in the Winter X Games Tignes. White has the most gold (14) and overall medals (19) in Winter X Games history.  This weekend, White placed first in both the SuperPipe and in Slopestyle, making this the fourth double gold Winter X Games for him.

During the inaugural year of Winter X Games in Europe 2010, Tom Wallisch took home the gold in Ski Slopestyle. Healing a broken left scapula for most of 2011, Wallisch was unable to compete in Winter X Games 2011. However, this past weekend, he was able to reclaim his podium spot and the silver that he so rightfully deserved.

South Lake Tahoe snowboard all star, Jamie Anderson, represented not only for her hometown, but also for her country during Winter X Games Tignes. Anderson has medaled in all 5 of her Winter X Games Slopestyle appearances and took the gold back to her friends and family at home.

Born and raised with a backyard like Breckenridge, Eric Willett has developed a deep bag of tricks that have landed him on the podium twice before in Tignes. After a crash during his second run, Willet bounced back from last to secure the bronze, locking in his third straight podium appearance at the Winter X Games Tignes.
