The Enterprise Center's June schedule reflects the innovative programming for which the North Shore's primary "go-to" business resource has become known. Workshops are the "bread and butter" of the Center's schedule and range from the "basics," like sales and marketing, cash flow and human resources, to presentations on hot topics, like the group buying workshop on June 5th.
But workshops are just the beginning. The Center sponsors a "Business of…" series that introduces attendees to the possibilities of different, often emerging industries, and the opportunities they present for North Shore residents. June's focus is on the arts. The month also features a 128 Venture North breakfast, which regularly brings entrepreneurs seeking funding together with potential investors, and a special panel discussion about women serving on boards of directors.
Thanks to a grant from Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation, the Center's newest initiative, Young Entrepreneurs of the North Shore (YENS) is off to a flying start. Alternating after-work meet-ups at restaurants across the North Shore with skills-based sessions at the Enterprise Center, YENS is targeted specifically to entrepreneurs or prospective entrepreneurs under 40. The June session is on perfecting your marketing pitch.
The Enterprise Center is the only business center in New England to offer such broad programming. Add the fact that the majority of programs are free and that many are co-sponsored by the Small Business Development Center, which is located right in the Enterprise Center, and you have an incomparable one-stop resource for the region's small businesses.
To register or learn more about these and other programs of the Enterprise Center at Salem State University, go to www.enterprisectr.org. Unless otherwise indicated, all workshops are held at the Enterprise Center on the Salem State Central Campus and run from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The Enterprise Center arms business owners with the knowledge and skills to start their business, grow, and succeed. The Enterprise Center is located at 121 Loring Avenue, Salem, MA 01970. Phone 978-542-7528, www.enterprisectr.org.
