PHOENIX, Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Grand Canyon University has launched a partnership with Colorado Springs School District 11 to offer employees special scholarships as they continue their education.

Grand Canyon University offers traditional degree programs on its main campus in Phoenix, as well as online programs that allow busy students to attend class on their own schedules, from the comfort of their own home or office.

"All the world's best schools have teachers with a deeper knowledge of their subjects, and because of that, their students achieve at a higher level," said Curt Cotter, a Grand Canyon University Development Representative who serves the Colorado Springs area. "By working with District 11 to make advanced teacher education more attainable, GCU and District 11 are investing in teachers and inspiring their students."

Grand Canyon University's tuition is amongst the lowest in the country for online, private universities. The Colorado Springs School District 11, which is comprised of 60 schools, will feature Grand Canyon University as a continuing education option to its 1,700 teachers and 3,000 staff members.
