Grange Insurance Names John North President of Personal Lines

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Grange Insurance announced today that John North has been named the company's president of personal lines. In this role, North will be responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the company's personal lines book of business, including product development and pricing, underwriting management and operations.

"John has a proven track record of success driving business results, leading teams and managing change for independent agent carriers," said Grange Insurance President & CEO John Ammendola. "His experience will serve Grange well as we seek to continue to profitably grow our Personal Lines business with our independent agent partners."

North has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of Harleysville Insurance's 26-state Personal Lines business. While there, he led product development, underwriting, sales and processing, and consistently grew the company's Personal Lines business ahead of plan.

Prior to Harleysville, North spent seven years at Fireman's Fund as a personal lines regional underwriting executive and field vice president for their largest region in the country. He began his career at Chubb where he served nine years in a variety of roles, including marketing, underwriting/actuary, and ultimately as the assistant vice president, personal lines manager for their third largest market.

A graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, North will relocate to Columbus with his family.
