For the month of December the makers of Gravol® will be donating $1 for every purchase of Gravol® to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
TORONTO, Nov. 19, 2012 /CNW/ - Church & Dwight Canada, the makers of the Gravol® line of products, have proudly supported the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada since 2008 and for the month of December are donating $1 from every purchase of Gravol® to help grant a wish (up to a maximum of $15,000).
"Gravol® is a brand that has been helping Canadians for over 60 years, " says Bryan Ritchie, Marketing Manager for Church & Dwight Canada. "The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is a natural fit for our consumers as well as our employees. We are so proud of our partnership and that we can be a small part of brightening the day of a child with a life-threatening illness."
The Children's Wish Foundation has never refused a wish to an eligible child since it was established in 1984 and has granted over 18,000 wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. This year (2012), has been the most demanding year that the organization has seen in terms of granting wishes for children.
"We do not have a waiting list however, there are over 1,700 wishes that remain pending or are in process," says Paul St. Germain, Communications Director for Children's Wish Foundation. "Requests have gone up 24 per cent since 2009 and in recent months we have received more wish referrals than ever before. These factors place a greater strain on our resources and underline the significant importance of the support we receive from partners like the makers of Gravol® as well as the greater need for donations from the general public."
As part of an awareness campaign for the Children's Wish Foundation, the makers of Gravol have worked with award winning design house, Crush Inc., using a mixture of paper cut-out animation and state of the art digital technology, to create a touching and compelling video illustrating the story of a very special wish child named Emily and the "fairy godmothers" in the wish department who made her wish possible.
