Graywind Arched & Angled Shades Bring Smart Shading to the Industry's Most Challenging Window Shapes

Graywind Motorized Arched Shades News Release

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 13, 2026/PRNewswire/ -- Graywind, a provider of customized window treatments, has introduced Motorized Arched & Angled Shades to give non-rectangular windows light control, insulation and smart operation.

Designed for arches, triangles and trapezoids, the system fits openings beyond standard products. It provides an operable cellular alternative to fixed/manual coverings. Graywind is among few manufacturers offering motorized cellular shades for arched and angled windows.

The Industry's Blind Spot Is Operability, Not Shape Alone
Traditional shades can approximate curves or angles, but are often fixed with limited light control. Many treatments remain stationary or manual, while standard motorized shades cannot adapt straight travel to windows whose dimensions change across the opening.

Graywind starts with geometry. Each shade is custom-built to measured outlines, so its cellular material, pleats and operating assembly follow the glass while remaining operable.

Why This Changes Smart Shading
Most smart-shade innovation has advanced controls without changing geometry. Graywind extends operable smart shading to arch, elongated arch, triangle, elongated triangle, trapezoid and isosceles trapezoid forms, each engineered for its height, slope, symmetry and movement.

Cellular Performance for Architectural Glass
The honeycomb structure creates insulating air pockets that help reduce heat transfer through architectural glazing. Blackout fabrics strengthen sunlight exclusion and room darkening, while light-filtering choices preserve daylight. Made-to-measure production creates a cleaner fit with fewer gaps than cut-to-fit inserts.

Motorization Solves the Access Problem
Motorized control makes difficult-access windows easier to operate. In vaulted rooms, gable walls and stairwells, an optional solar panel supplements charging and reduces manual access.

Availability
Graywind Motorized Arched Shades are available at Graywind.com as six made-to-order products. Dimensions, movement, power and smart-control configurations vary by shape and undergo feasibility review before production.
