As with Great White's location in Venice Beach and additional locations across Larchmont Village and West Hollywood, Great White - Brentwood's menu, helmed by longstanding chef and Food and Beverage Director Juan Ferreiro, focuses on fresh, local, and seasonally-inspired dishes that are simple and allow their ingredients to shine. From coffee, juices, and smoothies to breakfast classics (such as the Breakfast Burrito, Great White Breakie, and Hotcakes) to signature salads and bowls, sandwiches, wood-fired pizzas, and beyond, Great White - Brentwood's menu seamlessly shifts from day to night and reflects the range of staples and seasonal rotations.
Mimicking its approach to food, the brand's celebrated natural wine program sees a handpicked and rotating selection of biodynamic, organic, and minimally-intervened wines from small, independent, passionate producers around the world. Guests can expect something exciting for every palate, from crisp whites and vibrant rosés to bold reds and experimental blends by the glass or bottle, along with limited-edition in-house varietals.
In addition to its dynamic wine list, Great White champions small-batch spirits across its growing cocktail menu, which includes signature offerings like the "Brunch Punch" made simply with fresh orange juice, grapefruit juice, and prosecco, and "Mini Martinis" among other inventive seasonal offerings.
"Over the years, we've carefully refined each element of the Great White experience to offer consistency while also thoughtfully considering new approaches and techniques," said co-founder Sam Trude. "We're thrilled by the opportunity to take our learnings and apply them - as well as continue to evolve our holistic approach to hospitality - in Brentwood."
The new 2,700-square-foot space reflects the brand's award-winning design and European-inspired aesthetic, with rough plastered walls, natural stone flooring, and ceramic sconces. Subtle nuances to the design accompany these common threads, such as the green facade and innovative open ceiling concept with three oversized skylights that diffuse abundant sunlight into the interior dining room, creating a true indoor-outdoor experience for guests.
With a key element of Great White's design DNA being its art collection and ongoing artist program, guests of Great White - Brentwood can enjoy a large-scale work by Los Angeles-based artist Michael Harnish, which adorns the far wall and acts as a focal point of the dining room. The unique blend of source material in the collage-turned-painting, from botanical books, fashion magazines, and commercial signage across Southern California, further exemplifies the creative and inviting energy the team envisioned for the space.
"With Great White - Brentwood, we strived to strike the right balance of thoughtful food and beverage offerings and considered art and culture in a high-design environment," said co-founder Sam Cooper. "After years of development, we're excited to be able to open our doors to the community of Brentwood and provide locals and visitors alike with a welcoming neighborhood cafe."
Further highlighting Great White's dedication to an all-encompassing experience for its guests, Great White - Brentwood will see custom hi-fi speakers designed in collaboration with longtime friend, DJ, and audiophile Max Ville (of Ville Sound) - a suitable conduit for streaming the brand's cult-followed playlists. Each of the various speakers throughout the dining room consists of custom, handmade wooden multi-cell horns with each cabinet made from white oak. An additional element of surprise and delight, some of the speakers are stained in rich forest green linseed oil to complement the restaurant's exterior.
