NEW YORK, Nov. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Green Beret Foundation will be hosting a special event at Gotham Hall on Wednesday evening, November 16, honoring members of the Green Beret community for special achievements and sacrifice.
A lifetime achievement award will be extended to Margo & John Catsimatidis, a "quiet professional" award will be given to David H. Mccormick and a Steel Magnolia award will be offered to Tresha Marble.
The Green Beret Foundation is thrilled to be back in New York City to join with fellow Americans, to celebrate, support and raise awareness for the US Army Special Forces, affectionately known as the Green Berets. Right now, Green Berets are deployed in over 110 countries.
As a result of these deployments, Green Berets have the highest casualty rate per capita in all of Special Operations Forces: 60% of all casualties in SOF are sustained by Green Berets.
The Chairman of the Board, former Green Beret Maj. Gen. David Morris (Ret), will be in attendance along with many former and current Green Berets.
"Fallen brothers are never forgotten and will always be honored and remembered, just as their families will always be remembered and supported. Green Berets fight on for their brothers; they don't seek glory, for they recognize there is no glory in war. Their brotherhood stands for freedom," Morris said.
Interested Media are welcome to attend the event to gather news and conduct interviews. News content related to Green Beret deployment rates, sacrifices and missions will be available, along with award winners, for interviews.
