PARSIPPANY, N.J., Nov. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Green Giant, an iconic American vegetable brand, announced it will sponsor California Chrome, the No. 1–ranked Thoroughbred in the world and winner of the 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, at the 2016 Breeders' Cup on Nov. 5 in Santa Anita Park, California. The favorite to win the $6 million Breeders' Cup, California Chrome will take to the track this coming Saturday along with longtime jockey Victor Espinoza, who will wear the Green Giant logo.

At five years old, California Chrome has already won more money than any other North American Thoroughbred in history. After sitting out much of 2015, California Chrome has returned to the track and is currently undefeated in his 2016 campaign, and is looking to add the Breeders' Cup title to cap off his remarkable year.

Victor Espinoza, a 2015 Triple Crown winner and longtime California Chrome jockey, was aboard during his Kentucky Derby and Preakness wins in 2014. His green and white pants will feature the familiar Green Giant logo. California Chrome will be seen during the week wearing a flysheet that features the brand logo and imagery.
The partnership was facilitated by Leverage Agency, the New York City-based sponsorship agency for California Chrome.
The prestigious Breeders' Cup will be televised nationally on NBC. Tune in on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. EST to watch California Chrome and Green Giant race toward the winner's circle.
This public outing marks the historic Green Giant brand's reinvigoration of the frozen food aisle this year with a purpose: to help America incorporate more veggies into meals.
