Green Throttle™ Games Launches Developer Program

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Throttle™ Games, a new video game publisher and maker of the Atlas Bluetooth analog controller, today announced the launch of a new program and portal that is making it easier than ever for mobile game developers to tap into the growing market of Android tablets and smartphones. Green Throttle's new initiatives give developers the tools to make their games more exciting, a new destination to showcase their games and the ability to bring mobile games to larger screens and new audiences. With the launch of the developer program and the availability of developer controllers, Green Throttle is offering their Atlas controllers along with the Green Throttle SDK to users of the Corona Labs SDK, Marmalade SDK, Unity development platform, Amazon development platform and indie development studios. The first 100 qualified developers in each of the above categories to apply for the developer program will receive two controllers and custom support for each middleware solution or hardware platform.

Green Throttle brings the power of game publishing to the hands of developers with a very flexible platform that allows game makers to leverage the lower-costs of mobile and web game development while delivering a "console-like" experience with both true analog control for fluid gameplay and multiplayer capabilities to make the gaming experience social again.

Access to the Developer Portal

• Developers download Green Throttle's Software Development Kit (SDK).
• Integrate SDK into their game to add support for multiple wireless controllers.
• Purchase Green Throttle's Atlas controller to test game compatibility.
• Submit to Green Throttle for review after submitting to Google Play.

Developers Get Paid

• In addition to their direct sales revenue from Google Play or Amazon, developers can also access revenue streams from Green Throttle when the developers send gamers to buy a Green Throttle controller.

Access to the Atlas Controller

• On the heels of its first shipments, Green Throttle's Atlas Controller ties the mobile-to-console experience together and will be an integral part of game development with Green Throttle's SDK.

Supported tablets and mobile phones can connect with an HDMI cable to a television so that gamers can play console-like games from their mobile device. The controller's technology allows developers to create a console-quality gaming experience at the low cost of mobile gaming. The Atlas controller is priced at $49.95 on Green Throttle's e-commerce site, making this a very accessible accessory for the millions of mobile devices shipping this year. IDC has reported that Samsung alone shipped 56 million smartphones in Q3 2012, and 10 million Android tablets from Samsung, Amazon and Asus were sold through the channel. Once developers integrate Green Throttle's SDK into their game and get their hands on Atlas controllers, they are directed to Green Throttle's App page via mobile device where they can download the Green Throttle Arena App, Controller Service (which runs behind the scenes and helps controllers connect to the phones), and sample Green Throttle developed games. 

Developers

Major gaming publishers and developers are revving up their mobile offerings with support for the Green Throttle Atlas controller. CMUNE will be creating a version of their hit Facebook First-Person-Shooter (FPS) game "UberStrike" for Green Throttle. "UberStrike", which recently launched Android and iPad is Facebook's largest 3D FPS game with more than 8 million players and 1.4 million Monthly Active Users on Facebook alone.
