TOKYO, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP sponsored and participated in the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF) Asia 2026, held Sept. 16-18 in Hong Kong, where attorneys from the firm's offices across Asia and the Middle East came together to share insights on one of the hospitality industry's fastest-growing sectors: branded residences.
As part of the conference's Branded Residences Track, Greenberg Traurig Real Estate Practice and Hospitality Practice Shareholders Joel H. Rothstein, Stephen Kelly, and Sarah Mahood, along with Of Counsel Mitch Reynolds and Associate Belynda Ho, presented the workshop, "Structuring, Launching and Operating Branded Residences in Asia Pacific: Understanding the Legal Pitfalls and Avoiding Them." The featured session addressed key legal and commercial considerations related to branded residential developments, including project structuring, governance, brand protection, sales practices, operational obligations, and risk management.
In addition, Reynolds moderated a fireside chat with senior executives from IHG Hotels & Resorts and Banyan Tree. The discussion, titled "Branded Residences Contracting in Asia: Navigating the New Era of Agreements," explored evolving contractual frameworks, owner-operator relationships, governance structures, brand standards, and long-term value creation in branded residential projects.
The participation of attorneys from Greenberg Traurig's Tokyo, Singapore, and Dubai offices highlighted the firm's multidisciplinary, cross-border approach to advising clients on branded residences and hospitality projects.
"IHIF Asia provided an excellent opportunity for our attorneys across Asia and the Middle East to come together and share insights drawn from our work on branded residences in key markets around the world," said Rothstein, chair of the firm's Asia Real Estate Practice. "Demand for branded residential projects continues to grow globally, and we plan to continue collaborating across offices and practices to expand and strengthen Greenberg Traurig's branded residences capabilities for clients worldwide."
IHIF Asia is one of the region's leading hospitality investment conferences, bringing together owners, operators, investors, developers, and other industry leaders to discuss investment trends, market opportunities, and the future of hospitality and real estate throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
