Greenberg Traurig's Raquel Lord, Ian Marx, Clarissa Gomez Recognized in 2026 New Jersey Legal Awards

According to the New Jersey Law Journal, the New Jersey Legal Awards recognize "the trailblazers, innovators, and dedicated professionals who have made a lasting impact on the State's legal landscape." Winners will be announced Oct. 29 at The Palace at Somerset Park.

Lord, a shareholder in the firm's New Jersey Labor & Employment Practice, is a finalist in the "Best Mentors" category.

Lord is an employment litigator and trusted adviser who counsels businesses across the health care, pharmaceutical, financial services, and retail industries on a broad range of workplace matters, including employment practices, compliance, investigations, and labor disputes. She regularly conducts internal investigations for her clients, and has experience litigating and counseling clients on joint employer issues and franchise matters. She routinely represents employers in federal and state courts and before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state and local agencies.

Lord also serves as co-career development liaison for the firm's Associate Development Program in New Jersey, working closely with associates, firm leaders, practice groups, and the firm's Professional Development team to support attorney growth, mentoring, morale, and engagement. She helps associates build meaningful mentoring relationships and connect with training and resources that support their long-term success.

Marx, a shareholder in the Litigation Practice, is a finalist for the "Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year" award, which recognizes an individual "who has had inspiring success on a 2025 pro bono case or who dedicated a notable amount of their time in 2025 to pro bono work to achieve meaningful results," according to the publication.

Marx joined Greenberg Traurig's New Jersey office shortly after its opening over 20 years ago and represents industry-leading, household-name clients (as well as individuals and entrepreneurs) in their most challenging, business-critical disputes both in his home state of New Jersey as well as in courts and before arbitration panels throughout the United States and its territories. He also is passionately committed to pro bono work and using his voice and position to advocate for constitutional rights and social justice. He has devoted hundreds of hours to representing victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, political refugees, and wrongfully convicted and abused prisoners, among others, closely collaborating with and representing such organizations as Rachel Coalition, Partners, KIND, Human Rights Watch, Innocence Project, ACLU-NJ, and others. Gomez, of counsel in the Litigation Practice, has been named a "New Leader of the Bar, Litigation" winner, an award given to an attorney under 40 who "brings both notable achievements and outstanding potential to the table."

Gomez regularly represents clients in class actions and other complex business disputes. She represents clients in various industries, including health care, hospitality, energy, and education. In addition, Gomez defends employers and managers in employment disputes arising under employment laws, including the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination. She has experience with claims alleging discrimination, wrongful discharge, and harassment.

Gomez has served on the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association (NJWLA)'s board for four years, helping strengthen relationships between the bar and the bench through committee leadership informed by her experience clerking for both state and federal judges in New Jersey. She also serves as a scorer for the NJWLA's law school scholarship essay competition.
