GreenBridge Computing Joins World Vision's "Spark a Child's Digital Future" Campaign; Commits to Multipoint Servers for Pilot Schools in Kenya

SEATTLE, April 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- World Vision, Microsoft, British Council, and Intel are moving forward on the "Spark a Child's Digital Future" Campaign, confirming a new commitment from GreenBridge Computing to assist with the upcoming launch in Kenya. GreenBridge joins the partnership for Phase One, which will provide Windows Multipoint Servers supporting hundreds of Windows 8 devices, as well as content, consulting, and deployment services for the first ten schools, helping to transform learning for thousands of students and educators in rural Kenya.  

Spark a Child's Digital Future is a collaborative effort, uniting World Vision, British Council, Microsoft, Intel and now GreenBridge Computing. The Spark a Child's Digital Future initiative brings holistic digital access to the classroom, including devices, infrastructure, and teacher training, which improves learning outcomes—in academics, life skills, and economic opportunity.

World Vision, with operations in nearly 100 countries, leverages their deep experience in sub-Saharan Africa in collaboration with the partners to initially bring digital access and 21^st Century learning to schools in Kenya. The GreenBridge donation adds efficiency and sustainability, with low power consumption, full teacher management capability, low maintenance costs and the longest expected lifespan, which increases sustainability.

The announcement of the GreenBridge Computing commitment comes as the partnership prepares to launch Phase One of the roll out in schools in rural Kenya.

Each of the new Windows MultiPoint Servers will deliver a Windows 8 computing environment to 15 simultaneous users, while providing a classroom control and content management solution to 20 additional students using Intel Classmate PCs. The project rollout is scheduled for June 2013, in Matete, a rural community in Western Kenya, in close collaboration with the Kenyan Ministry of Education.
