GREENGUARD Showcases Low-Emitting Products, Healthier Indoor Environments at Greenbuild 2011

ATLANTA, Sept. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Products can make a room, but low-emitting products can make a room healthier. That's the message the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute will deliver via its exhibitor's booth at the 2011 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo next week.

"The booth is designed to give show attendees a visually stimulating representation of how low-emitting materials, finishes, and furnishing come together to help create healthier indoor environments," says Henning Bloech, executive director of the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute.

A departure from the wildly successful "built environment" theme of the last two years, this year's GREENGUARD booth will use a creative combination of product samples and graphical imagery to communicate the health benefits of using GREENGUARD Certified products in offices, schools, and healthcare spaces. Products from participating manufacturers, including 3M, Executive Cabinetry, HP, Healthier Choice, Knauf, KI, Mondo, Owens Corning, Rubbermaid, Sherwin-Williams, Teknion, and Wilsonart, will be featured.

Visitors to GREENGUARD's booth can also take advantage of prominently-placed quick response (QR) codes, a more sustainable, digital alternative to printed informational handouts. When scanned with a smart phone, the QR codes will link visitors to GREENGUARD's new mobile-friendly Product Guide—a tool that enables on-the-go architects, designers, and other specifiers to find certified low-emitting products at anytime, anywhere.

In addition, the founder of the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, Dr. Marilyn Black, will serve as a subject matter expert at the Greenbuild Knowledge Bar on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 2-4 p.m. There, visitors can meet with Dr. Black one-on-one and ask questions about indoor air quality and product emissions. The Greenbuild Knowledge Bar is located on Level 800 of the South Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, just outside the South Exhibit Hall.
