Greenstein & Milbauer, LLP Files Lawsuits Against The Gow School Under New York's Child Victims Act

NEW YORK, July 8, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenstein & Milbauer, LLP, a law firm based in New York City, has filed a lawsuit under the New York Child Victims Act in Erie County Supreme Court (Index # 806642/2020) alleging that from approximately 1983-86, Plaintiff, then a minor, was repeatedly sexually abused while a resident at The Gow School. Throughout the period in which the abuse occurred, Gow School negligently employed and retained staff members to whom they gave access to child residents. Several of the staff members had histories of abusing minor students. This lawsuit arises out of Plaintiff's significant damages related to the sexual abuse.

When Plaintiff was a child and attended and resided at Gow School, one of Gow School's employee staff members engaged in unpermitted sexual abuse of Plaintiff.

Multiple Survivors of Gow School have contacted Greenstein & Milbauer, LLP, a law firm based in New York City, alleging they were sexually abused at The Gow School, 2491 Emery Road, South Wales NY, 14139. Gow School is a private for-profit boarding school which, offered educational programs, youth activities and housing for youth with learning disabilities. Gow School turned a blind eye. Instead of taking action to investigate, report child abuse to the authorities, and provide a safe environment, staff and administrators used their authority to discourage and/or prevent victims and their families from disclosing the abuse.
