Greyhound Expects More Than 500,000 Customers To Travel Fourth Of July Weekend
With even more ways to enhance the customer experience, such as the new BusTracker tool, Greyhound gears up for the holiday weekend
DALLAS, June 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Greyhound, the largest provider of intercity bus transportation, is gearing up for a busy Fourth of July weekend, with more than 500,000 customers expected to travel to more than 2,300 destinations across the United States.
With Independence Day approaching, Greyhound reiterates to customers that traveling by bus is one of the safest, most convenient and affordable ways to travel this holiday weekend. With the high volume of customers expected to travel, Greyhound is eliminating some of the stress with its new tracking feature, BusTracker, which helps travelers track the real-time location of their bus and when it will arrive at their destination.
In addition to BusTracker, Greyhound buses also feature modern amenities such as free onboard Wi-Fi, power outlets, leather seats, extra legroom and access to OnTouch®, an onboard catalog of destination packages that allow customers to purchase tickets to theatrical events, popular attractions and ground transportation offers.

Other features such as guaranteed seating and $1 fares on Greyhound Express routes have also reintroduced the brand as an affordable, modern travel option. The first bag can be checked for free, with the second bag only $15, allowing customers to save their money during the holiday weekend.
Greyhound encourages customers to arrive at least one hour before their scheduled departure time. Tickets are valid only on the date and schedule for which they were purchased. If customers wish to change travel arrangements, tickets can be re-issued for a fee if seats are available.
"We expect there to be a high demand beginning now through the post-holiday Monday, July 6," Kaplinsky said. "We encourage customers to buy tickets now, to ensure that they get a seat on their desired schedule at the lowest fares. If possible, customers should consider traveling on off-peak travel dates to allow for more schedule options."
To improve customers' experience, the transportation leader offers self-service ticketing kiosks at major terminals; Wi-Fi enabled terminals and a book on-line/pay with cash service. Tickets can be purchased on www.greyhound.com, on the new Greyhound mobile app, by calling 1-800-231-2222 or at company terminals and agencies.
Along with the company's traditional service, its popular Greyhound Express® service offers direct service between more than 1,000 intercity pairs in more than 120 major cities, covering more than a third of the company's North American network.
