Originally built in 1854, The Mansion recently finished updates at a $200,000 price tag. In addition to all-new trompe l'oeil wallpaper and paint colors in crisp cedar, dogwood, burr oak and blue ash — giving the interior a more light and airy feel — the carpet was pulled up to uncover original white oak floors, refinished to revive their original beauty. The front columns were restored as well. Lights were restored or replaced with new, ornate sconces, chandeliers and pendants. Soft textures, lacquered finishes and gilded accents now highlight the spaces. Other fresh touches include new bathroom tile and new carpet on the second floor.
