Grow Desoto: Entrepreneur Pitch Day Aims To Find Local Entrepreneurs For A New Business Incubator Opening In Summer 2017
DESOTO, Texas, May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The DeSoto Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) in partnership with the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce, City of DeSoto and Options Real Estate will host Grow DeSoto: Entrepreneur Pitch Day. The event will be held at 320 E. Belt Line Road in DeSoto, Texas from noon – 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017. This event seeks to find and engage entrepreneurs interested in locating their small businesses inside of a new small business incubator in the Brookhollow Shopping Center of DeSoto, TX. The incubator is a 26,000 SF retail building which is being re-purposed to house a variety of restaurants, retail spaces, and a shared workspace. The incubator boasts an open-air, mall environment that will attract a consistent flow of foot traffic for the businesses located inside. These businesses will also enjoy reduced rental rates starting as low as $400 per month (including all bills), easy access to I-35 and I-20, and ongoing business training.
DEDC invites all interested entrepreneurs to register for the Grow DeSoto: Entrepreneur Pitch Day event at www.growdesoto.org. Registration ends at 5:00 pm on May 19, 2017. Selected entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present a 3-minute pitch on their products, services, or startup ideas to a panel of judges and the public for the chance to secure a spot in the incubator. "One goal of the DEDC is to provide opportunities for owners of small businesses and those individuals with great startup ideas. To date, over 50% of the space within the incubator has been pre-leased. Current tenants include a range of restaurants, a full-service barber shop and the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce.
