Grow Therapy Unveils AI-Powered Between-Session Reflections to Deepen Therapy Insights

The new tool uses artificial intelligence to help clients and therapists surface focus areas before each session, making therapy sessions more productive and personalized.

NEW YORK, Aug. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Grow Therapy (Grow), a mental health platform empowering providers to deliver exceptional in-person and online therapy and psychiatric care , today introduced "Between-Session Reflections", an AI-powered feature designed to enhance the effectiveness of therapy sessions by providing an outlet for introspection and self-examination. Clients write their thoughts and feelings between sessions, and the AI-assisted tool helps generate a concise list of key themes. The reflections are the client's own, the AI supports with clarity.

Clients can briefly respond to targeted prompts about recent experiences, stressors, and progress, or opt for longer journaling exercises if they prefer writing as a therapeutic practice. AI then provides a list of relevant topics, such as 'work stress', for clients to review, edit and send to their provider, or delete entirely. This approach allows clients to choose exactly what information, if any, is communicated before their next appointment.

Early feedback from the phased rollout to clients and providers suggests the feature may improve the therapy experience by keeping important insights from being overlooked between sessions and may help some clients articulate emotions that may be difficult to express verbally. Therapists benefit from receiving more timely and meaningful context, allowing them to better understand and address the evolving needs of their clients. This aligns with research showing that clients who remain engaged between sessions, such as through reflective writing, tend to have better outcomes.
