Growth in IT Outsourcing & Cloud Hosting Pushes Lenexa Data Center to Launch Expansion

LENEXA, Kan., May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The announcement for Arsalon Technologies to open phase two of their Lenexa data center comes on the heels of regional business' increasing demand for cloud hosting solutions and IT outsourcing. The Arsalon hosting facility expansion will be available for clients by the third quarter of this year and create up to 25 new positions.

Companies are turning to data centers as a way to avoid the high cost of building and managing their own hosting facilities. As this internet infrastructure outsourcing trend progresses, industry experts estimate that 7 out of 10 companies are using a virtual environment for a portion of their IT infrastructure. The $5 million project is funded through Arsalon's long standing partnership with Bank of Blue Valley and calls to double the raised floor space within the company's newest 50,000 square foot data center facility which opened in June of 2010. The expansion plans include the installation of two-1.5MW Cummins generators with paralleling switch gears and redundant chillers, A/C units and UPS units. The project planning and construction is headed by Rand Construction, a national expert in critical facilities. Also on the team are Burns & McDonnell and Heartland Electric.

The expansion of the third Arsalon data center is perfectly situated in Kansas City for clients and also new hires. The hosting facility size and abundant supply of power and internet connectivity continues to attract regional companies while creating high-wage, highly-skilled job opportunities for metro residents over the next 24 months.
