MEMPHIS, Tenn., Aug. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Guardsmark, LLC recognized the company's most outstanding performers of Fiscal Year 2014 at the Winning Wednesday® ceremony on August 27, 2014. The annual celebration continues a long tradition of Guardsmark honoring those who fulfill the company's 51-year mission of sustained excellence in protection.
Vice President Jim Antonelli was recognized for the fifth consecutive time — and the eighth time overall — with the Douglas M. Thomson Award, which recognizes the top sales performance of the fiscal year and is named for the late Doug Thomson, one of the company's leading salespeople from 1971-1984.
Vice President Rebekah Wells was honored for the second time with the Nelson-Henry Award for the best management performance of the year for her leadership as the Manager in Charge of the office in Santa Monica, Calif. The Nelson-Henry Award is named for the late D.D. Nelson and the late R.A. Henry, two of the company's prominent early leaders.
Tedros Tamene of the Guardsmark Oakland office was selected as the Supervisor of the Year, and Wolf Louis of Orlando was named the Security Officer of the Year.
The Guardsmark Columbus, Ohio, office, led by Manager in Charge Sam Walters, was recognized for outstanding achievements, and 30 Guardsmark offices received bonuses for profit improvement.
Also honored were Protection Services Manager of the Year Tod Sturgeon of Seattle, Relationship Manager of the Year Sabina Kolodziej of Toronto, Human Resources Specialist of the Year Sandra Hendrickson of Minneapolis, and Administrator of the Year Melanie Russell of Oklahoma. Christopher Gist of Little Rock won the Alan Ross Hawley Innovation for the Customer Award, and Willy Pena of New York received the Mark Lipman Award for claims investigation.
Guardsmark offices in Detroit; Little Rock; Portland, Ore.; and Knoxville received Diversity Management Awards. Santa Monica; Puerto Rico; Marin County, Calif.; and Montana won Career Development Awards. Robert Small Awards, honoring loss prevention, went to New York; Harrisburg, Pa.; Oklahoma; and Columbus.
