DALLAS, April 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Yesterday at a dinner in New York City hosted by The Wall Street Journal and Investment News, GuideStone Funds was recognized by the Lipper Fund Awards for the fourth consecutive year. The GuideStone Extended-Duration Bond Fund received the 2015 Lipper Fund Awards for Best Fund Over 3 Years (Corporate Debt A-Rated Funds) as well as Best Fund Over 5 Years (Corporate Debt A-Rated Funds). The Fund was accorded the same pair of accolades last year.
"For the second year in a row we are pleased to award GuideStone Extended-Duration Bond Fund as the top Corporate Debt A-Rated fund over both the three and five year time periods," said Jeff Tjornehoj, Head of Lipper Americas Research. "Their ability to capture the same awards in consecutive years reflects a strong commitment to investing excellence."
"Engineering a repeat performance is difficult," said John R. Jones, President of GuideStone Funds. "To have the Extended-Duration Bond Fund recognized by Lipper two years in a row is a fitting testament to our investment approach and the outstanding team that puts it into practice."
GuideStone Funds is the nation's largest Christian-screened mutual fund family and available to all like-minded investors. With more than $10 billion in assets under management, GuideStone Funds offers a globally diversified family of 31 mutual funds designed to meet a variety of objectives across the risk spectrum. Bringing together award-winning performance and Christian values, investors have access to a broad range of investment strategies to meet their financial goals — all built on a foundation of integrity and excellence.
"We believe being recognized for industry awards, such as Lipper, is once again proof that investors do not need to sacrifice performance to invest with their values and beliefs," Jones said. "We are humbled to once again be honored by Lipper as we strive to meet the increasing market demand for investments that align moral principles with exceptional investment performance."
This marks the fourth consecutive year the Lipper Fund Awards has recognized GuideStone Funds. GuideStone's 31 mutual funds use multiple world-class investment managers within a single fund to ensure diversity of investment processes and management.
In 2012, the entire GuideStone Funds family was honored with Lipper's Best Overall Small Fund Group in the U.S. over the three-year period ending November 30, 2011 among 182 fund groups, making it the first Christian-screened mutual fund family accorded this prestigious honor. In 2013, the MyDestination 2025 Fund was ranked No. 1 out of 92 among Mixed-Asset Target 2025 Funds for its performance over the three-year period ending November 30, 2012.
The Lipper Fund Awards, which recognize funds and fund management firms for their consistently strong risk-adjusted performance, relative to their peers, were announced to the public and presented at an awards dinner and ceremony held March 31 at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in New York City and hosted by The Wall Street Journal and Investment News.

Lipper Fund Classification Awards are based on Lipper Ratings for Consistent Return (effective return), which reflect a fund's historical risk-adjusted total returns relative to funds in the same Lipper Global Classification. Classification averages are calculated with all eligible share-classes for each eligible classification. The calculation periods extend over 36, 60 and 120 months. The highest Lipper Leader for Consistent Return (Effective Return) value within each eligible classification determines the fund classification winner over three, five or 10 years. Fund groups with at least five equity, five bond, or three mixed-asset portfolios in the respective asset classes are eligible for a Lipper Asset Class Group Award. The lowest average decile rank of the three years' Consistent Return measure of the eligible funds per asset class and group will determine the asset class group award winner over the three-year period. In cases of identical results the lower average percentile rank determines the winner. Visit www.lipperweb.com for further information.
The GuideStone Extended Duration Fund-GS2 won for the 3 year and 5 year periods ended 11/30/2013. 57 funds were eligible for the 3 year award and 51 funds were eligible for the 5 year award. The GuideStone Extended Duration Fund-Institutional won for the 3 year and 5 year periods ended 11/30/2014. 44 funds were eligible for the 3 year award and 41 funds were eligible for the 5 year award.
