Gumball 3000 Foundation Announces Largest Single Donation to Date

LAS VEGAS, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading international dating sites AnastasiaDate.com and AsianDate.com today announced a partnership with the Gumball 3000 Foundation to auction off a replica K.I.T.T. car from the popular television series Knight Rider. After crossing the finish line at this year's Gumball 3000, the keys to the well-known K.I.T.T. car will be presented to the Christie's auction winner, with all proceeds going to the Gumball 3000 Foundation. The faithfully reimagined and pristine replica of the Knight Industries Two Thousand (K.I.T.T) car started with a 1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, which boasts a 305-cubic-inch / 5-liter fuel-injected engine, iconic glass hatchback and pop-up headlights. The front of the car was transformed using custom-molded fiberglass to give it the iconic nose with pulsing LED light. For the interior, the consoles, head-liner and dashboard were all replaced with custom parts and new electronics to achieve the authentic look and feel of the original K.I.T.T. To top it all off, a voice box featuring William Daniels, the original voice of K.I.T.T., was included with many phrases from the show. 

David Hasselhoff himself has signed the dashboard, declaring this to be an authentic representation of the iconic car that he drove for years in his role as Michael Knight. He will also be present at the auction to hand over the keys to the lucky new owner. 

The auction will take place in Las Vegas, Nev., at 8:45 pm on Saturday, May 30^th, at the MGM Village. The auction was organized as part of the finale of the Gumball 3000, one of the most luxurious, star-studded automotive events in the world.
