Haag Sherman Joins U.S. Capital Advisors Board of Directors
HOUSTON, May 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Capital Advisors LLC ("USCA") announced today that Haag Sherman has joined USCA's Board of Directors. Mr. Sherman is currently the CEO of Tectonic Advisory and is the former CEO and CIO of Salient Partners, L.P.

Mr. Sherman is an experienced industry veteran and has a track record of building successful firms in asset and wealth management. From 2002-2012, Mr. Sherman co-founded and served in various executive capacities, including CEO and CIO, for Salient Partners, L.P., an investment firm with $17.5 billion in assets. Prior to Salient, Mr. Sherman was a Partner and Executive Officer of The Redstone Companies, L.P., where he focused on private equity and alternative investments from 1998 to 2002. From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Sherman was employed at PaineWebber, Inc., as a part of its Redstone Consulting wealth advisory group. Mr. Sherman began his career with Price Waterhouse and also practiced corporate and securities law for Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
Mr. Sherman serves on the boards of numerous publicly traded companies. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law.
Mr. Sherman is author of Shattering Orthodoxies: An Economic and Foreign Policy Blueprint for America, which outlined problems associated with the financial crisis and provides an integrated plan to address these problems. The book reached No. 6 among Social Policy books on Amazon.com.
Mr. Sherman earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where he graduated with honors. He is also a cum laude graduate of Baylor University (with majors in accounting and economics), a certified public accountant and a member of the State Bar of Texas.
