Halfaker and Associates, LLC Announces Appointment of Michael Weiner, DO as Chief Medical Information Officer

ARLINGTON, Va., March 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Halfaker and Associates, LLC, a technology solutions provider within the Federal Government's health, intelligence, defense and security sectors, today announced the appointment of Michael Weiner, DO as Chief Medical Information Officer. As Halfaker's Chief Medical Information Officer, Michael will provide strategic and clinical leadership in the application of health information technology and work directly with operational and clinical leaders to identify opportunities for using health information technology to support agency priorities.

Michael brings more than 37 years of experience to Halfaker, most recently serving as Chief Medical Information Officer of IBM Healthcare & Life Sciences where he supported the development of innovative healthcare solutions and services while identifying new business areas and opportunities to continuously increase the delivery of quality healthcare across the globe. Prior to joining IBM, Michael held multiple roles as a Naval Officer including Director of the Military Health System Electronic Health Record Way Ahead Office where he was responsible for overseeing the development and deployment of the next generation of the Department of Defense's global Electronic Health Record system; Deputy Program Manager and Chief Medical Officer for the Department of Defense's Defense Health Information Management System where he deployed the Military Health Electronic Health Record to 74 hospitals and 250 clinics worldwide and to the White House; and Chief Medical Officer of the global Navy Expeditionary Combat Command where he served as the senior medical officer to more than 200 medical departments supporting 40,000 Service Members worldwide. Michael is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a board certified practicing physician in Internal Medicine, holds a Master's degree in Management and a Master's degree in Information Systems Technology from George Washington University.
