HallPass Launches Nationwide at Walmart With 70-Calorie Candy

HallPass, the newest company from Medici Brands, aims to become "the Coke Zero of candy."

NEW YORK, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- HallPass, the new confectionery brand from entrepreneurs Peter Rahal and Michael Tierney, launched nationwide at Walmart and on Walmart.com on August 30, 2026. HallPass is the newest brand from Medici Brands, the consumer product company behind David Protein.

HallPass is launching with three products: Peanut Cups, Peanut Creme Crispy Wafers, and Chocolatey Candy Pieces, delivering the taste, texture, and experience of classic candy for 70 calories and 1g of sugar per serving.

Rahal and Tierney started HallPass around a simple idea: people have not stopped loving candy, but the tradeoffs that come with eating it have become harder to justify.

They believed candy was ready for the same kind of transformation that reshaped the soda aisle. Products like Diet Coke and Coke Zero gave consumers a way to keep the experience they loved while dramatically changing the nutritional equation. Rahal and Tierney now want HallPass to do the same for candy.

"Our ambition is to make HallPass the Coke Zero of candy," said Michael Tierney, Co-Founder of HallPass. "People still love candy. They just don't want to make the same tradeoffs to eat it.
