Hamilton Company Wins Switzerland's 2010 Tell Award for Manufacturing Investment in Grisons, Greater Zurich Area
ZURICH, Oct. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hamilton Company has been awarded a Tell Award 2010, the Greater Zurich Area AG and Hamilton announced today. Hamilton Company, the Reno, NV-based global leader in precision fluid measuring was honored with a Tell for sustained investment in the manufacturing facility of its Swiss subsidiary Hamilton Bonaduz AG, in the Canton of Grisons, Greater Zurich Area. Named after Swiss national hero Wilhelm Tell, the Awards are an annual recognition of the most important inward investment projects to Switzerland by North-American companies. The award for Hamilton underscores the appeal of the Greater Zurich Area as a location for developers and manufacturers specializing in precision technologies.
Hamilton Company has been named this year's winner of the Tell Award in the category 'most significant manufacturing investment'. Global healthcare company Abbott, the Canadian Bombardier (who opened its MITRAC Powerlab for locomotive and high power propulsion in Zurich in 2009), and life science and high-tech company Sigma-Aldrich also receive a Tell Award.
A global leader in laboratory automation and sensory technology for precision fluid measuring, Greater Zurich Area-based Hamilton Bonaduz has been developing and manufacturing precision and medical technology products in the Swiss town of Bonaduz since 1966. In 2009 Hamilton Bonaduz opened a new development and manufacturing facility, adding 150 new jobs and bringing the total number of employees to 750 today.
Named after the national hero Wilhelm Tell, the Tell Awards are an annual celebration of the most significant inward investment projects by North American companies in Switzerland. They are sponsored and organized by the Swiss Embassy in the United States and Swiss Trade and Investment Promotion (STIP).
The winners are presented with the Tell Award on October 26th in the Swiss Embassy in Washington D.C. by Switzerland's Ambassador to the U.S., H.E. Manuel Sager. Past awardees for the Greater Zurich Area have included companies such as Disney, IBM, Microsoft, and Google.
